Supporting Rohingya Girls in Bangladesh
RISE Bangladesh
In partnership with UNICEF, Girl Rising is working to strengthen the confidence, agency, and educational aspirations of Rohingya adolescent girls living in refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.
This program, running through December 2025, will reach 500 girls and 500 parents across the camps. Through our storytelling-based curriculum, girls will explore themes of self-belief, resilience, and future aspirations. Using locally adapted stories of girls like Ruksana, Wadley, Amina, and Nasro—told through illustrated storybooks and dubbed video content—we aim to spark conversation, build connection, and nurture hope.

The project also includes a six-week program for parents and caregivers, designed to deepen their understanding of why girls’ education matters and how they can support their children to stay in school.
Girl Rising will train 36 master trainers through in-person workshops in Cox’s Bazar. Local Rohingya volunteers, in collaboration with UNICEF, will deliver the program within the camps—bringing these sessions to life in classrooms and community spaces.
This work is supported by evaluation partners George Washington University and Gender and Adolescence: Global Evidence (GAGE), ensuring that our impact is measured, understood, and shared.
