Girl Rising is thrilled to announce the addition of Victoria Gonin and Kim Mughal, two remarkable leaders, to our Board of Directors. Victoria and Kim bring a wealth of expertise and a passion for fostering women’s leadership, building education equity, and storytelling for change. Their diverse experiences and deep commitments to education will enhance our mission to change the way the world values girls and their education.
Victoria Gonin is a strategic and highly collaborative leader with extensive experience in corporate, higher education administration, and women’s leadership programming. Victoria began her career in advertising with Young and Rubicam and BBDO before transitioning to the publishing field with IDG publications. Her journey continued in consulting as the managing director for the Boston office of RGP, a global consulting firm.
In 2013, Victoria pivoted to higher education, taking on roles such as Deputy Director of Alumni Relations at Dartmouth College and Executive Director of Alumni Relations and Volunteer Services at MIT, where she led a team of 25 professionals to engage alumni with the Institute through various events and programs. As a certified leadership coach, Victoria is dedicated to fostering leadership development and growth for women leaders. She co-founded Womenade Boston, an early women's giving circle, and serves on the board of Inspiring Girls USA. Victoria also mentors young female leaders through She-Can, helping to build the leadership skills needed to change their nations and the world. An avid traveler, Victoria enjoys hiking, yoga, cross-country skiing, and e-biking in her free time.
Kim Mughal is Vice President at Hodes Weill & Associates, a global capital advisory firm specializing in real estate, infrastructure, and other assets. Kim is responsible for engaging with institutional investors and consultants in the Mid-Atlantic and Midwestern regions of the U.S., understanding their investment needs, and helping them forge meaningful market connections. Beyond her professional achievements, Kim is passionate about education, storytelling, and authentic networking to build bridges between people, cultures, and organizations. She is an avid marathon runner, aiming to complete all six world majors, and enjoys exploring new restaurants and traveling with her husband.
We are excited to have Victoria and Kim join our board, bringing their passion, expertise, and commitment to Girl Rising. Their leadership will be invaluable as we continue our work to build a world where all girls learn, rise and thrive.
