About the Girls First Summit
Now in its 10th edition, the Girls First Summit is a one-day professional training event bringing together grassroots leaders, programme practitioners, and Girl Rising partners to deepen their practice of girl-centred design.
Since its inaugural gathering in Nairobi in September 2017, the Summit has grown into one of the region's most trusted spaces for practitioners working directly with girls and their communities — a place to build skills, challenge assumptions, and leave with tools that actually translate to the ground.
This year's Summit marks a new chapter. Following the merger between Girl Rising and She's the First, the 2026 edition reflects a broader, bolder commitment to girls' education and leadership worldwide.
What to expect
A full day of capacity-building training focused on girl-centred programme design, feminist mentorship, and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). Sessions are shaped by the priorities girls themselves identify —…
