Girl Rising has worked in India since our founding. Our programs and campaigns are focus on building life skills among girls to improve education outcomes; addressing deep seated gender bias; and building a community of girls' education advocates.

We offer a growing library of resources for girls, clubs, educators, and community-based organisations - all designed to centre girls’ voices, strengthen their confidence and leadership, and support those working alongside them.
The Global Girls’ Bill of Rights® Toolkit. helps communities turn girls’ rights into action. It guides users in creating a local bill of rights, organising events, and amplifying girls’ voices online. The Bill is available in English, Kiswahili, and French.
Driving Better Outcomes for Girls
The Girls First Institute equips leaders with expertise across three core areas that drive better outcomes for girls. Those who complete the program earn a credential that signals proven skills and measurable program growth — helping them attract funding from our network of partners who are ready to invest in their work.
Girl-centred mentoring
Supports organisations to design programmes grounded in girls’ lived realities, voices, and needs, to maximize impact
Feminist mentoring for girls
Builds mentoring approaches that create safe spaces where girls can access information, develop confidence, and strengthen their leadership and decision-making
Sexual & reproductive health & rights
Equips organisations to address the real challenges girls face around relationships, safety, menstruation, and bodily autonomy through age-appropriate and girl-centred programming
Through our Council, Fellowships and Chapters, we support girl leaders and grow their networks.
Driving Lasting Change
Girl Rising, now merged with She’s the First, drives change through three programmes that work powerfully together - with girls, in schools, and in communities.
Through our Girls Leadership Programmes, RISE Education Programme, and the Girls First Institute, we support adolescents, educators, families, and locally-led organisations to expand opportunity and remove the barriers that stand in the way of girls’ aspirations.
Girls at the Centre
Girls are at the centre of all we do. We listen to girls, learn with them, and work alongside the people that shape their daily lives - schools, families, and community organisations - so change can last.
Our programmes engage girls along with their teachers, parents, the boys in their lives, schools, and community organizations to shift norms and strengthen girls' network of allies.
