Since our origins, 16 years ago, we've been igniting a movement for girls' education and opportunities.
Girl Rising was born from a powerful collaboration between filmmakers, journalists, storytellers—and girls themselves—to create the award-winning documentary, “Girl Rising.”
Our first decade primarily focused around storytelling-driven education programmes that help young women develop life skills, critical thinking, and the confidence to pursue their dreams.
In 2026, we officially merged with She’s The First and expanded our work to include Girls' Leadership Programmes, deep collaborations with community-based organizations and uniquely holistic approach to driving change with girls at the centre of all we do.
