Strengthening Local Leadership
2,500 girls are leading 120 chapters in 21 countries across North America, East Africa, South Asia, and Europe — a global network first built by She’s the First and now growing as part of Girl Rising.
Girl-Led
Our chapters are founded and led by girls in their schools or communities; they act as safe spaces for girls to explore feminism and other progressive ideas for the first time.
Hands-on Support
Chapters receive training, access to 1:1 mentorship and support, and opportunities for grant funding.

Want to make a difference where you live? Gather a group of girls who care about the same things you do. Together, with mentorship from our staff, you'll have real conversations, take on projects, speak up to local leaders about issues that matter to girls, and build a crew that has each other's backs.
To establish a Girl Rising Chapter, you must be:

A girl (gender-nonconforming, genderfluid, transfeminine experiences included) between the ages of 13 and 22

A proud advocate for the rights of girls everywhere, including the 10 rights in the Global Girls’ Bill of Rights

Willing to uphold our commitment to anti-oppression and anti-racism
